About the Speaker

Michael Kovacic brings more than 30 years of experience in the electrical safety industry. He has led and participated in safety audits covering millions of square feet of facilities across heavy industrial operations, global corporations, and government organizations.

Kovacic has contributed to the development of computer database applications that support record-keeping and reporting for safety assessments. His background includes conducting arc flash hazard calculations, accident investigations, and providing legal assistance.

His extensive knowledge of electrical safety standards — including DOD/DOE requirements and Army, Navy, and Air Force safety programs — has allowed him to deliver both standard and customized training on OSHA Standards, the National Electrical Code, and NFPA 70E. His courses have been taught for the U.S. Department of Labor at the OSHA Training Institute in Chicago, multiple State OSHA departments, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, and numerous major private organizations.

He has authored electrical safety programs for corporations and government entities worldwide, including a fully reconciled ANSI (NFPA 70E) and IEC (EN 50110) program. Kovacic is an active member of IAEI, IEEE, and NFPA, and serves as a voting member of the ASTM F-18 Committee.
